HEALTHCARE ACTIVITIES
Prestigious Medical Institutions like Jaslok Hospital, Hinduja Hospital and Chanrai Hospitals have close links with the Shahani Trust.
Dada Kishinchand T. Shahani was one of the providers of seed funds to these institutions. The current Trustees recommend deserving needy patients for free (or subsidized) treatment to these hospitals.
The LILA SHAHANI CENTER for the early detection of cancer was set up in Naigon, Mumbai with the help of the Cancer Patients Aid Association. This has saved many lives with timely detection & intervention of cancerous tumors.
The AJIT SHAHANI DIAGNOSTIC CENTER was opened for providing diagnostic and treatment facilities to underprivileged people in the surrounding slum areas of Worli, Mumbai.
The Trust has also donated an ambulance to the Cancer Patient's Aid Association and sponsors the medical treatment of cancer patients every year.
Every month the Trust provides monetary support to needy patients for their treatment.
